In the past, Diablo 4 players often hit a wall when it came to farming specific Uniques. You could spend hours grinding one boss and still walk away empty-handed. Enter Belial, the Lord of Lies, now repurposed as a Lair Boss disruptor who has effectively changed the rules of loot farming

The key to unlocking Belial’s full potential lies in Betrayer’s Husks, a currency that redefines how—and who—you farm.
Season 8 introduced a core change to boss materials, making them easier to track and collect. But the real breakthrough came from how Belial interacts with other Lair Bosses. Instead of being a standalone challenge, Belial functions as a wildcard. He appears randomly after any Lair Boss kill, and while his health pool is manageable, his value lies in what he drops—both extra loot and Betrayer’s Husks.
These Husks are then used to open Belial’s own Hoard chest, but not just in any instance—you’ll need to defeat his true form in his lair, the Palace of the Deceiver. Once there, players fight a supersized version of Belial that pays tribute to his Diablo 3 boss fight with a few added mechanics.
Once defeated, the real prize appears: a customizable loot chest. Instead of being locked into one boss’s loot pool, you choose which Lair Boss’s Uniques and gear you want. This opens up incredible flexibility for targeting gear—especially powerful Uniques or Uber Uniques that previously required repetitive, often frustrating grinds.
Smart players are now adopting multi-path strategies. They build up summoning mats for a boss they can easily farm (Varshan is a favorite due to Tree of Whispers bounties), hope for Belial to appear, then convert the resulting Husks into rewards from a more difficult boss like Duriel or Andariel.
This evolving strategy means that Belial isn't just a boss—he's a resource funnel, offering a smoother and more rewarding path to the top loot in Diablo 4
