⒈ Every build does the same thing where they stack massive amounts of life or energy shields bonuses (usually the former). This is not optional.

⒉ Every class starts with two routes at start, these are usually a damage route and a survivability route. Most builds will have you pick the route with survivability, especially if it has life bonuses, because the game forces you to stack life or die.

⒊ You absolutely need to use poe.trade to find decent gear because the odds of getting anything decent to drop are near nil. You will vendor almost everything you find. Better gear makes playing easier, so you get more PoE Currency Cheap faster.

⒋ For starter currency, pick up and sell magic items (dont waste scrolls of wisdoms on any that you plan on selling) and small normal items. Larger items seem to have the same sell price as smaller items (yes this is really dumb). Identify rares before selling them or you get almost nothing for selling them. If you keep selling most rares that you find, you will eventually rack up a stockpile of alteration orbs for buying gear.

⒌ If you are running out of space, get rid of the low level gems that you arent using, you can buy most gems from NPCs and they scale up to about level 15 or so and you can buy max level gems from players for cheap when you hit level 70.

⒍ Damage types are aligned to certain stats, this is REALLY important because the game penalizes certain builds by forcing them to get extra stats to use their support gems. Fire damage = str, cold = dex, lightning = INT.

⒎ If you start in the bestiary league, only capture rare/unique monsters unless you have a recipe that specifically calls for normal/magic monsters. Dont go nuts capturing stuff either, its pure RNG and can take forever to get a rare mob to show up. Some of the early beast crafting recipes can get you some great gear for cheap (2x life rings for example) but higher level ones take way too long to farm.
