The first three are legitimate points raised in the newest trailer, which digs deeper into the two timelines Days of Future Past operates in.
Directed by Bryan Singer, Days of Future Past will send Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back in time in an effort to change history. In order to do so, he has to interact with the younger mutants we got to know in 2011 First Class Jennifer Lawrence Mystique, James McAvoy Charles Xavier, and Michael Fassbender Magneto.
But because of Future Past also shows us what in store for the older versions of our favorite characters it also stars familiar faces, from Halle Berry Storm to Ian McKellen version of Magneto and Patrick Stewart take on Professor Xavier.
In the trailer, we get to see a hint of some of the younger and older versions of the characters interacting, as Singer promised at Comic Con last year.
goal was to try and make a film that would bring this cast together by time travel or time displacement of some kind, Singer said. the notion is that consciousness of Wolverine of the future is sent into his past self. And it was nice because Hugh (Jackman) was able to play both parts because the character of Wolverine is ageless. And it was great to be able to place him as a character in both these worlds. For me, it was great to reunite the old cast and get to work as a director with the new cast. Days of Future Past arrives in all its time bending glory on May 23.
