Interactive buy cheap wow gold gaming giant Activision Blizzard is to acquire Candy Crush maker King Digital Entertainment in a bid to 'create one of the world's largest entertainment networks.'

The deal is set to be worth 3.82billion and King shareholders are on course to receive 11.66 per share, representing a 20 per cent premium on the company's closing price on 30 October.

Riccardo Zacconi will continue in his role as chief executive at King. King's chief creative officer Sebastian Knutsson and chief operating officer Stephane Kurgan will also retain their roles.

Bobby Kotick, chief executive of Activision Blizzard, said, 'The combined revenues and profits solidify our position as the largest, most profitable standalone company in interactive entertainment.

'With a combined global network of more than half a billion monthly active users, our potential to reach audiences around the world on the device of their choosing enables us to deliver great games to even bigger audiences than ever before.'

The acquisition, set to close in Spring next year, is set to create one of the world's biggest global entertainment networks, with over half a billion combined monthly active users in 196 countries.

In the share sale, Activision will pay $18 in cash for each King share. The deal is expected to boost the combined firm's revenues and earnings by around 30 per cent.

Candy Crush is one of the world's most successful mobile games, while Activision boasts popular franchises such as Call Of Duty and World Of Warcraft.

Mr Kotick told Reuters that the combined firms aimed to appeal to a broader range of people, adding that 60 per cent of King's users were female.

King's key game, Candy Crush, where users move matching candies to make lines disappear, launched on Facebook in April 2012 and was released on Apple devices in November that year, followed by an app for Android devices a month later.

Following King's launch on the New York Stock Exchange in March last year, Candy Crush makers netted millions of pounds. Leading the pack wasMel Morris, a former flooring salesman from Derbyshire, who made around 530million.

Analyst Eric Opara, of Edison Investment Research, said: 'For Activision, it will provide a step change in its penetration of the mobile gaming channel, which is the fastest growing segment of the video games market.

'For King, it offers the potential to leverage its mobile and social gaming expertise across Activision's large games portfolio and reduces its reliance on its own blockbuster games like Candy Crush.'
