Change is possible
Lets start from the grass root, primary education

I believe that government has better education infrastructure (buildings) as compared to most of the privately owned education system. And instead of going for any parallel system we should help the existing system. The only problem lies with the backwardness of the primary teachers and lack of real training that can empower them and can give them confidence for nation building. Primary teacher is least educated, unmotivated and no positive steps have been taken for their capacity building. Instead all the emphasis remained on spending billions of rupees in changing the curriculum almost every year.
Moreover, the money spent on printing of free books is lost in vain because students get least benefit from these books as their teachers force them to buy ‘beneficiary guides.’ This is because teacher don’t want to take the pain of making students to understand the lessons and thus opt for such guides which provide ‘ solved questions’.
After thinking a lot, I reached the conclusion that if ARY starts mobile service for training the teachers and utilizes technological devices like projectors, a visible change can be brought about.
These primary teachers must be provided training of English language, computer and internet usage. They must be taught how they could get benefit from the internet. And at the end of the training these teachers must be provided with computers. (It will be a lesson for the government that who need the laptops most and why)
Dreaming of an educated nation sans well-educated teacher would remain a dream.
I estimated that by spending a only 1,00,000 rupees on every primary school a great change can be brought about. RS 50,000 on laptop and 50,0000 on projector. (Well, you don’t have to give them i9 systems as i3 and lower will do the job. I am using a Core 2 that I bought in just 20,000 rupees and it is working well. The amount can be further reduced by importing used computers (in good condition of course) and this will not be difficult for ARY administration. Now the question will be arising in your mind that what about the electricity because most of the schools lack this facility?
Yes most of the schools but not all of these schools and initiative should be taken from such schools.
And what about the solar systems? Yes expensive but there would be lots of people in country and around the world to fund the serious education programme.
Besides, if teachers have been provided laptops and educational video and material, they can serve this purpose. Trust me this will not only educate the teachers and students alike but would also reduce the burden of primary teachers who lonely has takes all five classes.
Now the question is what about the training programmes and what should be the procedure?
Well, for this purpose ARY can use its media offices where the newly appointed staff can sit and work and all small cabs can be used for mobile training programmes. The training staff can be hired from the local places who may themselves be trained in big ciites like Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad by best trainers.
And a media campaign can also be started in which university students can be persuaded to volunteer during and after their studies, in the form of internship programmes. Students would be ready to go to schools on short term basis. This will help both primary teachers and students.
And if ARY is really really interested in educating the nation then it can also initiate a ‘EDUNATION TV’ transmission channel, (why not if it can run entertainment what’s wrong with education) Where teachers across the country would be ready to get their lectures recorded according to syllabus.
In future it can be turned into ARY virtual schools. ARY can start its ‘EDUNATION WEBSITE’ where lecture on education can be uploaded.
What about the funds? Well if our nation can give money in ‘karz utaro mulk sanwaro ‘ like schemes it well come to help this project. People will be ready to help from inside and outside this country.
I also have programme for improving health centers in our RHCs and would love to share if taken seriously.
(This is rough draft and if ARY is really interested a thorough research can be initiated and plan can be developed to execute this idea)
Well you have all rights to reject my ideas but I would really appreciate if it is rejected with reason.[/b]
