IMO if Jagex announced at Runefest 2018 that Castle Wars was going to be revitalized across the buy runescape gold board, people would lose it. I don think we need to remove DMM, though it could use one of those integrity updates we get from time to time. However I think Castle Wars has a place in OSRS, it just needs love. Also update the rewards to void armour level of usefulness and that may be by itself enough to bring people back. I am not grinding hundreds of hours for adamant armour, sorry Jagex. Don remove them,
Romans used Steel and Iron in their armor and weapon, although this probably would not have matterd much since the fortifications most certanly would be wood and mud. However ran any time of animal into a sharpend pole and it will die. Run any type of animal into a ditch or a mud wall and it will probably break its neck. Sure romans could never hope with the size of a legion to kill 100,000 bisons in a head to head.
Private server early mob competition is probably the reason they are even proposing sharding to begin with. Where in private servers, when there may be 1,000 2,000 people per starting zone, it's extremely hard to get tags, with dynamic respawns, and sometimes even in a 5 man group. But these problems don't even persist in the zones surrounding the starting ones.
Any regular quest or grindable mob can be located with non camped spawns even with 1 2k people in that specific area. The only mobs that you have difficulty trying to get a kill on, are bosses, or longer respawn timer mobs like rares, because they are in much higher demand with a low supply of them.
