China sets new world record for rice yield
Yuan Longping, renowned developer of hybrid rice, has set a new world record.
A hybrid rice project headed by Yuan has achieved a yield of 1,149.02 kg of rice per mu (about 0.07 hectares), or 17.2 tonnes per hectare, in north China's Hebei Province, local authorities said Monday.

CHONGQING, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality produced 60.95 million laptops last year, up 9.9 percent, the municipal government said Friday.
